THE PERFORMANCE LIFESTYLE OF SERAINA MURK

Adrenalin Junkie, Mountain Freak, Freedom Lover. That’s Seraina Murk in three words.
Seraina is really living the KJUS spirit. She’s a passionate paraglider in summer and an uncompromising skicrosser in winter. To get the best of both worlds she even has two different residences, living in Lenzerheide during the winter season and Interlaken in the summertime.

And she’s not stopping there. She’s also an enthusiastic mountaineer and alpinist and enjoys climbing in her home mountains around Interlaken. Seraina is one of the leading women of paraalpinism, where you hike up the mountains and use your paraglide to fly back down. “You get in shape on the way up, but you’re not losing time on the way down. It’s simply the best workout”, she explains. So she made a living out of it. Besides her private passion for paragliding she’s working as a tandem pilot, doing up to eight flights a day, which is why staying in shape is a natural thing for her.

Once the winter is knocking on the door she’s instantly moving back to Lenzerheide, waiting for the first ski lifts to open so she can prepare for the upcoming skicross season. And Lenzerheide really is the perfect resort for that. On one hand long and steep slopes practically deserted in the very morning, when Seraina usually starts her practice runs. On the other hand untouched mountainsides, perfectly shaped for extensive freeride runs and ideal for speedflying.

Her goals for the next season are high. She wants to attend all of the national races and hopes to win the overall series. She’s also preparing for the European Cup where she hopes to make it to the podium regularly and qualify for the world tour. And we are wishing her the best of luck.
