STARTING THE NORDICA EXTREME DAYS WITH KJUS

UPDATE SIX - ST. ANTON:

Wednesday started with 2 faces on the program – starting in St. Anton and continuing at Valluga, where last year’s Extreme Days crew was surprised by fog and tough snow conditions. But not this year: It was worthwile to come back! Clear blue sky the whole day, some fresh powder, a motivated crew – an appropriate finish for a seven days road trip deluxe!
Stefan thanks every riders, partners, crew, audience and fans of the Extreme Days 2012: „It’s over and was fantastic! Funny, kind, exciting! Thanks to every one who made this possible. We had an awesome final day in St. Anton am Arlberg – my home. See you next year!“

Keep your fingers crossed for Stefan for the last stop of the Freeride World Tour at Verbier this weekend.

 UPDATE FIVE - SILVRETTA (2/2):

After being indulged with exclusively sunny weather so far on the road trip powered by Mercedes-Benz GLK, the 2nd day on the Bielerhöhe brought some fog – and for the joy of all 20cm of fresh snow(!). The crew took advantage of this bad weather for some detailed search- and rescue coaching with Ortovox equipment.  At this, everybody could improve their know-how through the professional coaching of Stefan Häusl and team guide Raimund Huter.
In the worst case, such bad weather fronts in high alpine areas at life threatening altitudes can make a downhill for free riders literally impossible. Therefore, Raimund and Stefan demonstrated rappelling on a dam - 2 men, 1 rope, 80 meters of descent…!

On the next day (20th of march) at 7:30a.m., the crew was ready equipped with Nordica skis and skins for their home face: Blue bird, no wind, the Lobspitz lured with 20cm fresh snow! Check out the video to see which first lines and cliffs the team took after adrenaline-pumped thoughts and a challenging climb!
3 days in a hut in the Madlener-House on the Bielerhöhe are finally over. An unforgettable and extreme adventure no one will forget so soon.

 UPDATE FOUR - SILVRETTA (1/2):

The Nordica Extreme Days crew is back from 3 days at Silvretta-Bielerhöhe. During the first day in the most beautiful touring area in Silvretta it was all about "Hike2Ride" - including numerous technique and jump trainings. Definitely an informative and successful day for everybody!
Today they are in St. Anton on the Arlberg enjoying the clear blue sky and the little fresh snow while enjoying the final day of the Nordica Extreme Days 2012.

Next news coming soon!

 UPDATE THREE - SÖLDEN:

3rd day of the Nordica Extreme Days 2012 – Stefan and the team went to Sölden and got up early in the morning to ride down to the Venter Tal:
"We had an early morning start in Sölden! Taking the first train up to the Gigi Joch, we directly head to the glacier. From the Tiefenbach Ferner down to the Venter Valley. A total altitude difference of 1,500 meters firn hill. The participants asked for some technical feedback, so we took this downhill to improve their skiing skills. This has been an absolutely recommendable scenic downhill. Right after, we took the taxi to Sölden and from there, our Mercedes GLKs into the Montafon. We had to get the gondola at 4 to reach the Madlener House. Up here, we will stay for the next three days focussing on: Hike2Ride!"

The Nordica Extreme Days will be back with the next highlights on Wednesday.

 UPDATE TWO - FIEBERBRUNN:

2nd day of the Nordica Extreme Days 2012 – Stefan and the team made a stop in Fieberbrunn. A day full of great experiences and lots of sun.
Stefan about the stop in Fieberbrunn: “The only Austrian Freeride World Tour stop takes place in Fieberbrunn – the participants know the videos of various lines from tv or internet. It’s been a fantatstic experience for them to ride the “Wildseeloder”. We started after a first face check with nervous tension – but everything went well. They really did a good job in the face and were safe. I skied last and was quite relieved to see them all safely finishing their lines.”
Next stop for the Extreme Days crew will be Sölden – stay tuned!

 UPDATE ONE - KRIPPENSTEIN:

Stefan reports: "Krippenstein is unique! There are things, you won't see anywhere else in a free ride area. Starting with the cave and ending with the special gondola. The area has definitely something special. We had a great kick-off day! The snow had a soft ice lamella as a first layer, however it was still excellent to ride."
For the perfect warm-up day, Stefan took his five companions to open hillsides with wide branches for making them feel more comfortable with their new skis and above all with their new team they'll spend a whole week together. The cave, in which you can actually ride through if there is enough snow, has been the highlight of the day.
After a sunny first day, the tour goes on to Fieberbrunn, where the Wildseeloder, which Stefan defeated successfully as the Freeride World Tour face last week, is waiting for them.
